South Carroll High School adds 11 to faculty

South Carroll High School has welcomed 11 new administrators and teachers this academic year.

New teachers are: Teresa Adkins, agriscience; Bobbi Baker, drama and British literature; Brian Irons, math; Angela Kays, family and consumer science; Hilary Marks, social studies; Paul Meredith, special education; Cara Ober, art; Bryan Tayman, chemistry and ecology; and Erin Windsor, physical education and health.

Drew Cockley is the new assistant principal, and David Watkins is a ninth-grade guidance counselor.

Fires

Mount Airy: Firefighters from Mount Airy, Westminster, Lisbon (Howard County), New Market (Frederick County), and Damascus and Germantown (Montgomery County), responded at 11: 25 a.m. Saturday to a church fire in the 200 block of N. Main St. Units were out 29 minutes.

Winfield: Firefighters responded at 10: 51 a.m. Friday to a cleanup detail in the 6100 block of Old Washington Road, for 26 minutes. They responded again at 11: 31 a.m. for 36 minutes.
