Severn teen surrenders in slaying case

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A 19-year-old Severn man who was being sought in last week's fatal shooting of a Columbia man turned himself in yesterday at the Southern District in Scaggsville, Howard County police said.

Kevin Anthony Lee of the 7000 block of Scatteree Road, who was charged in a warrant with first-degree murder, was to appear today at a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner, said Sgt. Morris Carroll, a police spokesman.

According to police, Donald Ray Mitchell, 43, of the 10800 block of Olde Woods Way in Harper's Choice village was visiting a friend at the Season's Apartment Complex in North Laurel on Dec. 10.

Police said three men arrived, an argument ensued and Mitchell was fatally shot in the upper chest.
