Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Southwestern District

Shootings: Two men were shot when they got into an argument with another man from whom they were buying cocaine about 12: 30 a.m. yesterday in the 3500 block of W. Mulberry St. Detective Robert Dohony of the Violent Crimes Task Force said that during the argument, the seller pulled a 9 mm handgun and fired 17 shots, hitting one victim, 38, in the face, neck and right arm, and the second victim, 42, in the left side. Dohony said the gunman fled and the victims were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where the younger man was in critical condition and the other was released after treatment. Dohony said 17 shell casings, but no cocaine or money, were recovered at the scene.

Southern District

Theft: A videocassette recorder, batteries, 35 mm camera and lenses, all valued at nearly $2,000, were stolen Tuesday from a 1998 Chevrolet Suburban parked in the 1400 block of W. Patapsco Ave.

Burglary: Christmas gifts, electronic games, cassette tapes and nearly $200 were stolen on Wednesday from a house in the 200 block of W. McComas St.

Eastern District

Theft from auto: A set of racing cars, a leather and sheepskin jacket, tennis shoes, boots and toys, all valued at more than $600, were stolen from a 1988 Oldsmobile parked in the 200 block of E. Lanvale St. on Wednesday.

Northern District

Burglary: A watch and other property, all valued at $1,000, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 1100 block of Gleneagle Road.

Theft: A purse containing credit cards and other property was stolen from a room in the critical care recovery unit at Union Memorial Hospital on Wednesday.

White Marsh Precinct

Robbery: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed High's dairy store in the 6300 block of Kenwood Ave. of an undisclosed sum of money about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Essex Precinct

Burglary: Power and hand tools, all valued at nearly $5,000, were stolen Wednesday from Ernie's Trash, a refuse collection firm, in the 200 block of Carroll Island Road.

Towson Precinct

Burglary: Several pieces of jewelry of unknown value were stolen from a house in the 300 block of Northwind Road on Wednesday by someone who entered through a basement window.

Burglary: Jewelry of unknown value was stolen Wednesday from a house in the first block of Lyric Court.

Burglary: Computer equipment valued at $800 was stolen Wednesday from Uniforce Temporary Services in the 200 block of E. Joppa Road.
