Fire

Sykesville: Firefighters from Sykesville, Gamber, Reese, West Friendship, Howard County, the state Department of Natural Resources and the state fire marshal's office responded at 5: 57 p.m. Monday to a fire in a vacant barn on College Road. Units were out three hours.

Sykesville: Firefighters responded at 1: 21 p.m. Monday to a fire alarm on Slacks Road. Units were out 15 minutes.
