HOLIDAY TRADITIONS often bring families and friends together. Members of Faith Lutheran Church in Eldersburg have made a tradition of bringing the community and their church family together each December for a retelling of the birth of Christ.
At 5: 30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, a cast of nearly two dozen actors will present a live Nativity. The church's front lawn has been transformed into the Bethlehem of long ago with a rustic stable and other "buildings." Several live animals will add to the realistic setting.
A free soup-and-bread supper will be offered in the church after the presentation each evening.
Faith Lutheran Church is at 1700 St. Andrews Way, adjacent to the Eldersburg library.

On Thursday, the neighborhoods of Strawbridge Estates, Hammonds Estates, Carroll Square, Patriots Choice, Sherlock Holmes Estates, Merryman Heights, Carroll Dale, Rolling View, Heritage Heights and The Hemlocks will be Santa's destinations.
