Liquor outlets to provide free 'safe holiday party' kits
TOWSON
TOWSON -- About 3,000 "safe holiday party" kits, which include individual breath test kits and designated driver buttons, will be distributed free at 18 Baltimore County liquor outlets beginning tomorrow.
The kits are being distributed by the county's Licensed Beverage Association and the Baltimore County Department of Health substance abuse bureau to promote safe driving.

Community College to offer open house at Hunt Valley
HUNT VALLEY
HUNT VALLEY -- The Community College of Baltimore County will hold an open house at the system's Hunt Valley Center from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 14 and 19, to offer both credit and non-credit courses.
Located at Executive Plaza III, 11350 McCormick Road, the center will also present seminars. The courses will include computer technology, public speaking and environmental science.

A man whose body was found yesterday in a wooded area behind a Northwest Baltimore apartment complex was a victim of a homicide, said Detective Martin Young.
Young said the body was found about 11: 50 a.m. by a man walking behind a building at Forest Glen Apartments in the 2800 block of Forest Glen Road.
Young said the partially clothed body bore marks of violence and appeared to have been in the woods for at least a day. He said the body was taken to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy and fingerprints.
Bowling center to reopen on Pennsylvania Ave.
The Department of Recreation and Parks will reopen the Baltimore Neighborhood Recreation Facility Inner City Bowling Center at 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. at 6 p.m. Friday.
The bowling alley, located in the old Shake & Bake Family Fun Center, will be equipped with 32 computerized 10-pin lanes, a concession area with seating and new restrooms.
Hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. Applications for leagues will be accepted in January. Information: 410-396-6694.
Groups collecting gifts for sick infants, children
Gifts are being collected by the Lyric Theatre and the Maryland Academy of Physician Assistants to give away this holiday season to infants and toddlers infected with the human immunodeficiency virus.
Anyone who wants to help can bring an unwrapped gift to the Lyric box office at 140 W. Mount Royal Ave. downtown before Dec. 20. The academy will then wrap and deliver the gifts.
