He lives in Ellicott City with his wife, Karen, who is director of operations for the development office of Catholic Charities. Amerix is a debt management program processor and service provider to the credit counseling industry.
William F. Bittner Jr., an associate broker at the Long & Foster Real Estate Office, has been appointed Maryland real estate commissioner by Gov. Parris N. Glendening, succeeding Billie Landbeck. The Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors and the Howard County Association of Realtors submitted his name for the position. The Howard County resident will be responsible for enforcing the Maryland law relating to licensed agents and brokers and maintaining safeguards for consumers.
