Westminster pub gets fine for serving beer to cadet

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A Westminster pub has been fined $250 for serving beer to an underage police cadet in June, the Board of License Commissioners for Carroll County announced Wednesday in a written decision.

Testimony presented at a Nov. 10 hearing revealed that Cadet Carrie Wright, 20, was working undercover June 18 when she purchased a bottle of beer without being carded at Country Cafe, a pub in Westminster Inn, a restaurant and inn at Center and Green streets.

Noting that the licensee "has done an admirable job" in developing thorough policies for serving alcoholic beverages, the board suspended half of a $500 fine.
