HAMDEN, Conn. -- Brad Martin scored a career-high 19 points as UMBC defeated Quinnipiac, 82-66, last night in a Northeast Conference game.
The Retrievers (3-4, 3-0) led 36-33 at halftime, but trailed for the first seven minutes of the second period before using a 20-0 run to take control of the game.
Tim Hyland scored 18 points for UMBC and Terrence Ward 14.
Three players scored in double figures for the Braves (4-3, 1-1), led by Jared Grasso's 17 points. Nate Pondexter added 13 points and five assists and Bill Romano contributed 11 points and six rebounds.
