Health Department closes two restaurants

THE BALTIMORE SUN

The Anne Arundel County Department of Health temporarily closed two food service establishments because of emergency circumstances discovered during inspections between Nov. 16 and Nov. 30.

Taco Bell, 6656 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie, was closed Nov. 24 because of a small fire in a restroom and reopened Nov. 25.

Denny's Restaurant, 1365 Mellon Road, Hanover, was closed Nov. 30 because of a sewage overflow and reopened later that day.

Health workers inspected 136 restaurants and other food service establishments during the period and found 31 with critical food safety violations that were immediately corrected.

They found multiple violations at one restaurant, the Horn and Horn Buffet, 7315 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie.

The restaurant was cited for not properly cooling food and not keeping food at the right temperature.
