2 motorcyclists are injured in unrelated crashes

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Two motorcyclists, one from Virginia and the other from Pennsylvania, were injured in unrelated accidents in the Westminster area, authorities said.

Steven E. O'Brien, 54, of Littlestown, Pa., and Rafael A. Rivera, 23, of Falls Church, Va., were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment.

O'Brien's 1995 Honda rear-ended a vehicle at 6: 30 a.m. yesterday on Baltimore Boulevard, state police said. He was in serious but stable condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Rivera hit a guard rail on Route 97 near Morgan Run and was thrown from his 1986 Honda early Saturday, state police said. He was released that day, a hospital spokeswoman said yesterday.

The investigations are continuing, police said.
