The homes, shops and churches of the Frizzellburg area will be featured at the Soroptimist International of Westminster's 38th annual Christmas House Tour from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $10 and include stops at one church, two businesses and seven private homes in Frizzellburg, Tyrone, Mayberry and Pleasant Valley.
Buildings offer a variety of architectural styles and decorations.
Homes on the tour and their construction dates are those of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Ripley, 1367 S. Pleasant Valley Road, circa 1991; Mr. and Mrs. Victor Martin, 2215 Frizzellburg Road, circa 1750; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Evans, 1930 Old Taneytown Road, circa 1926; Mr. and Mrs. Marc Alexander, 1953 Old Taneytown Road, circa 1850; Dr. and Mrs. Robert Scott, 2611 Old Taneytown Road, circa 1978; Mr. and Mrs. J. Digate, 2812 Old Taneytown Road, circa 1895; and Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Wisner, 3817 Old Taneytown Road, circa 1858.
Also on the tour are Frizzellburg Bible Church, circa 1842, on Frizzellburg Road; Frizellburg Antique Store, circa 1870, at 1909 Old Taneytown Road; and the Pipe Creek Trading Company, formerly the Rainbow Roller Rink, circa 1936, at 3959 Old Taneytown Road, where refreshments will be served.
Tickets are available at Optics Ltd., Fairground Village; the Hickory Stick, Green and Liberty streets; and Forget-Me-Not Shop on East Main Street. Histories of the properties and tour maps also are available.
Tickets may be purchased at the participating properties Sunday. Proceeds will go to the club's nursing scholarship.
Westminster: Firefighters responded at 12: 02 p.m. Thursday to a fire alarm in the 1600 block of Washington Road. Units were out three minutes.
Westminster: Firefighters responded at 11: 24 a.m. Thursday to a pole fire in the 600 block of Ridge Road. Units were out 30 minutes.
Westminster: A resident of Old New Windsor Road told police Nov. 30 that someone removed the hubcaps from her vehicle while it was parked on West Main Street. Loss was estimated at $500.
