Volunteers needed

Schools, libraries and literacy programs seek volunteers to help children and adults improve reading skills.

Among them are:

Harlem Park Academy, 918 Edmondson Ave., Baltimore, to work with students in grades six through eight in reading and math in its Empowerment Tutorial Program. Tutors are needed between 1: 15 p.m. and 3: 15 p.m. Monday through Friday. An orientation program for volunteers will be held at the school Dec. 17. Maryland Associates for Dyslexic Adults and Youth, Rotunda, Suite 310, 711 W. 40th St., Baltimore, which provides free services, including remedial tutoring. MADAY needs qualified tutors to work at public sites with people of average or above-average intelligence who are dyslexic. Tutors must attend seven-session training program. The next scheduled sessions
