An article in yesterday's editions of The Sun concerning the number of abortions performed in the United States incorrectly stated that 9 percent of the women who had abortions were white. In fact, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the correct figure is 59 percent.

The Sun regrets the error.
