Western District
Theft/arrest: A man, 42, was arrested Wednesday after he entered a van parked in the 2000 block of N. Smallwood St. and stole a hand truck valued at $70.
Robbery/arrests: A male, 17, was in the 2100 block of W. North Ave. about 2: 40 a.m. yesterday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of a pager, jacket and more than $60. Police drove the victim around the area until the suspects were spotted and arrested. The victim's property was recovered.
Northern District
Shooting: A couple was walking in the 500 block of E. Cold Spring Lane about 11 p.m. Wednesday when a gunman fired six shots, hitting the man in the back. The woman was not injured. The victim was in serious condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Southern District
Robbery: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed BG's Tavern in the 300 block of S. Payson St. of an undisclosed sum of money and a patron of $15 about 6: 30 p.m. Wednesday.
Central District
Robbery: A man robbed a woman, 47, of her purse containing cash and property, all valued at nearly $200, in the first block of W. Madison St. on Wednesday.
Robbery: A man robbed a woman of $20 as she approached the cashier's window at the Merit gas station in the 1900 block of N. Charles St. about 12:40 a.m. Wednesday.
Eastern District
Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 2000 block of E. Hoffman St. on Wednesday through a rear kitchen door and stole a dining room table, four chairs, an entertainment center, curio set, microwave oven and several compact discs, all valued at more than $1,000.
Burglary: A videocassette recorder and three boxes containing crystal glasses, all valued at nearly $500, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 1500 block of N. Bethel St.
Essex Precinct
Burglary: A wood-chipping machine of unknown value was stolen from a garage in the 3800 block of Clark's Point Road on Wednesday.
North Point Precinct
Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 3000 block of Ross Ave. on Wednesday and stole $118.
Woodlawn Precinct
Robbery: A gunman robbed Video Movie Liquidators in the 8000 block of Liberty Road of nearly $500 about 6: 30 p.m. Wednesday.
