Second man arrested in credit union robbery

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A 29-year-old Baltimore man was arrested yesterday morning in the robbery Monday of Tower Federal Credit Union in Columbia, Howard County police said.

Another Baltimore man was arrested shortly after the robbery after leading police on a high-speed chase.

Sgt. Morris Carroll, a police spokesman, said police also are investigating the pair in connection with an October robbery of Tower Federal and a robbery at the Fashion Bug in Ellicott City last month.

Arrested were Donald P. Stokes, 34, and the 29-year-old man.

Stokes was held without bail at the Howard County Detention Center last night on armed robbery charges. The other man had not yet been taken before a court commissioner for a bail hearing.
