MY FAVORITE TEACHER

A student never forgets a great teacher. We asked one athlete what made his favorite teacher special.

CHRIS CARTER

RECEIVER MINNESOTA VIKINGS

"My fifth-grade teacher was Mr. Knepshield. He made math fun! Mr. Knepshield knew I loved working with numbers, and he challenged me. When he put a tough problem on the board, he always called on me to solve it. It was like a contest to see if I could get the answer. That boosted my confidence."

Kids Ask

Q: Was Doctor J a better basketball player than Michae; Jordan?

Alex J., 12,

Cahokia, Ill.

Michael Jordan is probably the best hoops player ever. He has averaged 31.5 points per game in 13 seasons. He has played in 11 All-Star Games and has won six NBA titles.

Julius "Doctor J" Erving was also a great player. He played in 16 All-Star Games. He won three NBA championships.

No one is better than Mike, but Doctor J was close!
