Decorate Town Hall tree at party Saturday morning

THE CROFTON Town Club and the Crofton Civic Association will hold the annual Christmas tree decorating party at 10 a.m. Saturday at Town Hall on Crofton Parkway. Members of the Crofton Greenery Garden Club will adorn the tree with handmade ornaments. Area residents are invited to add their decorations.

Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and representatives of several area clubs and organizations will be on hand to make this a festive occasion.

After the decorating, a holiday snack of bagels and hot chocolate will be served.

Santa's arrival

Santa Claus will arrive in Crofton on Sunday, trading his sleigh for a firetruck provided by the Arundel Volunteer Fire Department Station 7.

Santa's firetruck visit is a favorite holiday tradition in Crofton, where the annual Christmas tree lighting at the Crofton Country Club will be held Sunday evening at 7. The Crofton Community Singers, under the direction of Marilyn Miles, will offer Christmas carols. After Santa arrives, everyone will be invited inside the club for more caroling, pictures with Santa, hot chocolate and cookies.

How about breakfast with Santa? Crofton Kiwanis is sponsoring a breakfast with him from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Arundel Volunteer Fire Hall on Route 424. Children of all ages are invited.

The Living Waters Worship Center held a groundbreaking ceremony Sunday for the congregation's new worship facility, which will be behind the Greenway Bowl on Route 170 in Odenton.

The Living Waters community formed in 1994, is served by the pastoral team of James and Varle Rollins. Worship services are held Sunday mornings at Four Seasons Elementary School. The new building will be completed by next spring and will seat about 600 people.
