Howard elementary wins Commissioning Grant Award

The Howard County Arts Council has selected Thunder Hill VTC Elementary School in Columbia to receive its first Commissioning Grant Award.

Sculptor Rodney Carroll will make an abstract metal sculpture that will create sound from wind. It will be placed on school grounds.

As part of the project, Carroll will visit art classes at the school to advise students on creating their own wind sculptures.

Some of the children will visit Carroll's studio.
