Capote holidays staged at Olney

THE BALTIMORE SUN

In celebration of the holidays, Olney Theatre Center is reviving its 1993 production of "Holiday Memories." Adapted by Russell Vanderbroucke from two Truman Capote short stories, "The Thanksgiving Visitor" and "A Christmas Memory," the production begins previews Tuesday and opens Dec. 4.

The stories, autobiographical accounts of what Capote described as "the happiest part of an otherwise difficult childhood," focus on his relationship to a childlike, grown cousin called Miss Sook. Jim Petosa again directs a cast headed by Alan Wade, as the adult Capote; newcomers to the production include Halo Wines as Miss Sook, Thomas W. Seibert as the young Capote (known as "Buddy"), and Timothy Flynn and

Julie-Ann Elliot in multiple roles.

Show times at Olney Theatre Center, 2001 Olney-Sandy Spring Road, Olney, are 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 7: 30 p.m. Sundays, with matinees at 2 p.m. selected Saturdays and Sundays and Dec. 23 and Dec. 30, through Jan. 3. (No performance Dec. 25.) Tickets are $27-$32, except for preview performances Dec. 1-3, which are $25. Call 301-924-3400.
