The Santa Express'

It's official: The holidays are coming. Santa's begun making his rounds at area malls and attractions. He's making that list and checking it twice. Tomorrow, he makes his first stop at the B&O; Railroad Museum, as part of its "Holiday Train Tracks and the Santa Express." Kids can bring their Christmas list to him every Saturday and Sunday through December. He'll be perched in the red caboose in the Roundhouse, available for pictures and visits. The Santa Express train runs every weekend through December. Train rides run at 11: 30 a.m., 12: 30 p.m., 2: 30 p.m. and 3: 30 p.m.

Santa arrives tomorrow at 11: 30 a.m. at the B&O; Railroad Museum, 901 W. Pratt St., and visits each weekend through December, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission to the museum is $6.50; $5.50 seniors; $4 under 12; free for ages 2 and under. Train rides are an additional $2. Call 410-752-2388.

Mum's the word

The mums are in bloom and on display at the Baltimore Conservatory through Sunday. See a breathtaking display of standard and novelty chrysanthemums in a tropical setting, including thin-petaled spider mums and large, rounded football mums, all in a variety of colors. The conservatory offers guided tours of the palm house, the four greenhouses and the outdoor gardens. Call to schedule a tour.

The chrysanthemum show takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today through Sunday at the Baltimore Conservatory, Druid Hill Park, Gwynns Falls Parkway and McCulloh Street. Free admission. Call 410-396-0180.
