The Land Development Council of the Home Builders Association of Maryland recently presented an award of excellence to G. W. Koch Inc. for Woodberry Farms in Severna Park and to Sturbridge Homes for Tidewater Colony of Annapolis. Koch also won a Silver Merit award for the Preserve at Broad Creek, Annapolis. The Home Builders Association of Maryland is a nonprofit group that conducts governmental relations and educational opportunities for the association and functions as the industry advocate.

Jim Sinnot has been named director of managed care for Anne Arundel Health System Inc. Sinnot comes from University Care Managed Care at the University of Maryland Medical Center and has also held management positions at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maryland Inc., Columbia Medical Plan/Patuxent Medical Group and Arthur Andersen and Co. He will be responsible for managed care contracting for Anne Arundel Medical Center, Pathways alcohol and drug rehabilitation services, AAMC's Hospice/Home Health program and other health system projects.

Fleck Funeral Home of Laurel received the National Funeral Directors Association Pursuit of Excellence Continuing Recognition award for community service, consumer relations and professional educational programs. The association represents about 15,000 funeral directors and is headquartered in Brookfield, Wis.
