Central District
Robberies: A gunman robbed five people of nearly $300 in the 600 block of E. Pratt St. about 11: 30 p.m. Friday. Three men and two women were walking east when the gunman brandished a large-caliber semiautomatic handgun, told them not to say anything and demanded their money. The robber fled east on Pratt Street.
Southern District
Shooting: A Baltimore Department of Public Works employee was walking in the 1300 block of Washington Blvd. about 5: 20 p.m. Saturday when one of four men called to him. When the victim stopped, one of the men pulled a handgun and shot him in the right knee. The victim was treated at University of Maryland Medical Center.
Burglary/arrest: The occupant of a house in the 300 block of S. Bruce St. detained an intruder Saturday who was about to flee with a glass table, grandfather clock and a leather jacket, all valued at more than $800. Charged with burglary was Willie Smith, 39, of the 2000 block of McCulloh St. The property was recovered.
Northwestern District
Cutting: A woman was arguing with a man she knows in her house in the 3600 block of Park Heights Ave. on Saturday when the man slashed her across the face with a meat cleaver. She suffered a long laceration and was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Police advised her to seek a warrant for the man, who fled the scene.
Assault: A woman, 39, was in the 5200 block of Florence Ave. about 10 p.m. Saturday when she was thrown to the ground by a man. Her right shoulder was fractured, and she was treated at Sinai Hospital. A man known as "Ed" was being sought.
Southwestern District
Robbery: A man was standing outside his home in the 4700 block of Melbourne Road about 12: 40 a.m. yesterday when a gunman robbed him of $22, a diamond ring, watch, bracelet and a leather jacket, all valued at nearly $1,400.
White Marsh Precinct
Burglary: When the residents of a house in the first block of Catoctin Court returned home Saturday after being away for a week, they found that someone had entered through a bedroom window. While going from room to room, the occupants surprised a male intruder who fled. Police said it appeared the man lived in the house while the residents were gone and no property was missing.
North Point Precinct
Theft: A gold ring with diamond chips valued at nearly $3,000 was stolen from a house in the first block of Portship Road on Saturday.
Robbery: A woman, 35, was in her truck outside Watersedge Liquor in the 7900 block of Dundalk Ave. about 6: 15 p.m. Saturday when a gunman robbed her of nearly $50.
Parkville Precinct
Robbery: A gunman robbed the Burger King restaurant in the 8300 block of Harford Road of an undisclosed sum of money about 6: 25 p.m. Saturday.
