Oakland Mills 'gunbattle' wounds Elkridge resident

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Howard County police are investigating a shooting Friday night in Oakland Mills that left an Elkridge man wounded.

About 10: 20 p.m., two unidentified men exchanged gunshots that one witness described as an "apparent gunbattle" in the 5700 block of Stevens Forest Road, police said.

One bullet struck a sliding glass door of a house in the 9600 block of White Acre Road, police said.

An hour later, a 21-year-old Elkridge man, whom police did not identify yesterday, reported to Howard County General Hospital with a gunshot wound in the knee, police said. The man said he was a bystander, but a witness told authorities that the victim and another man "were shooting at each other."
