THE BALTIMORE SUN

A 26-year-old West Baltimore man was shot to death Friday night in the 500 block of Baker St., not far from his Druid Heights home, city police said.

Sarif Lamar Wells, of the 700 block of Cumberland St., was shot several times in the chest and arm just before 10: 40 p.m., said Detective Donald E. Steinhice of the homicide squad. He said Wells had died and the shooter had fled by the time police arrived.

Steinhice said police had no suspects and did not know the motive for the shooting.

"He appeared to be a well-liked guy," said Steinhice, who had lTC talked to Wells' family and friends who came to the scene to identify the body. "That's what everyone said."

Anyone with information about Wells' death is asked to call 410-396-2100.
