Man, 39, charged in shooting of another driver

A Brooklyn Park man was shot Sunday by a motorist who was tailgating him, Anne Arundel County police said.

Timothy Earl Elsey, 40, was listed in serious condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center with a wound to the chest. He was shot at Pebble Drive and Belle Grove Road in Brooklyn Park.

Reynaldo Viernes Munoz, 39, of Owings Mills has been charged with first- and second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and possession of a handgun. He is being held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.

Police said that Elsey was being tailgated and that when the two cars pulled off the road, Elsey was shot with a 9 mm handgun.
