C. Milton Wright overcame a 7-0 second-period deficit with 24 unanswered points to vanquish Montgomery County power Damascus, 24-14, before a large crowd at the Hornets' home field. The win was Wright's sixth straight.

The sixth-ranked Mustangs (10-1) face No. 2-ranked Eastern Tech (11-0) in a semifinal next weekend.

Wright's Hardy McSpadden caught an 11-yard scoring pass from 6-foot-4, 200-pound quarterback Grant Burrough for the Mustangs' first points, then tied the game at 7-7 -- the halftime score -- with his first of three extra-point kicks.

Mustangs' running back Jerrance Carter (104 rushing yards) scored his 14th and 15th touchdowns of the year, and McSpadden booted a 20-yard field goal.

Wright is making its ninth playoff appearance in coach Steve Harward's 13 years at the school.

Damascus took the Montgomery County Class 2A-3A league title this fall.

No. 3 Randallstown 21, Einstein 14, OT: James Jegede caught passes of 50 and 12 yards -- the latter on fourth down in overtime -- from Archie Trader as the Rams edged Montgomery County's Class 2A-3A league runner-up Einstein, 21-14, in overtime. The Class 2A state quarterfinal was played at Catonsville Community College.

Marshall Contee had a 1-yard touchdown run for the Rams (11-0), who stopped the Titans (9-2) on downs after scoring their decisive points.

Contee, Rodney Johnson, Charles Smith and Dieter Munz collectively played well against the visitors' Vern Sumner and Victor Sesay, who entered the game with a combined 16 touchdown receptions and 1,183 receiving yards. Sumner is 6-foot-2, and Sesay, 6-5.

Randallstown faces the winner of today's semifinal between Poly and Fort Hill of Allegany County.
