Manslaughter charge for teen in man's death

THE BALTIMORE SUN

NORTH EAST -- A Cecil County teen-ager has been charged in the fatal assault on an 82-year-old man who was knocked to the ground during an altercation Halloween evening.

Francis H. Gibson died Tuesday. He owned Town and Country Trailer Park on Wilderness Road at Pulaski Highway in North East, where police said he was injured while erecting barricades to protect trick-or-treaters at the park.

The teen-ager, who was not identified because of his age, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and second-degree assault and is in the custody of the state Department of Juvenile Justice. Police said the youth was irked when Gibson warned him to slow down, got out of his car and knocked Gibson down.
