County police are looking for suspects in two apparently unrelated rapes this week.

In the most recent attack, a 32-year-old woman was walking along East Furnace Branch Road at 1: 30 a.m. yesterday when a man offered her a ride to her home in Baltimore, police said. She accepted, but the man drove her to a parking lot in Bay Meadows Industrial Park in Glen Burnie where he beat and raped her, police said.

The woman said her attacker was driving a blue Lincoln Town Car.

Monday, a 15-year-old girl was sitting on a bench at Severn Danza Park about 4 p.m. when a man grabbed her arm, dragged her into the woods and raped her, police said.

Her assailant left the park in a black Honda Accord, she told police.

Collision at intersection injures officer, 2 civilians

A county police officer whose cruiser was broadsided and overturned as he drove home from work early yesterday is likely to be released today from the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, county police said.

Kenneth E. Unitas, a patrol officer in the Western District, had finished his shift and was driving along Telegraph Road in Severn about 1: 20 a.m. when a 1996 Chevrolet Beretta hit the passenger side of Unitas' car at the intersection with Donaldson Avenue. Police say the car's driver ran a red light.

Unitas' cruiser turned over several times in the concrete median strip before hitting a traffic signal pole and stopping, police said.

Unitas, 30, was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center with head and neck injuries.

The driver of the Beretta, Ray A. Comer, 28, of the 8500 block of Pioneer Drive in Severn was in stable condition yesterday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center. His passenger, Nathan Vongohren, 23, of the same address, was in critical condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
