Tonight's state game

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Salisbury State (3-6) vs. William Paterson (2-7)

Site: Wightman Field, Wayne, N.J.

Time: 7: 30

Outlook: A win would give the Sea Gulls some symmetry to their season. After beating Ferrum last week, 16-13, a two-game winning streak to end the season would match the two-game winning streak that began the season. The win over Ferrum was the first in the Atlantic Central Football Conference for Salisbury, whose 1998 has been marred by a six-game losing streak. RB Tony Ellis (793 yards this season) had another strong effort last week, running for 89 yards, and defensive end Khaid Atta was named the conference's co-defensive player of the week after recording two sacks and making five other tackles for losses.
