To show students that doing well can bring them recognition, the Citizens Advisory Committee of Quarterfield Elementary School has asked The Sun to help publicize its Student of the Week. Winners of the honor must write about themselves.

My name is Jamel Michael Taylor. I am a 10-year-old fifth grader. My birthday is on Oct. 21, 1988. I was born in Memphis, Tenn. I have three sisters. Two are older than me, and one is younger. My dad is like me, because we have the same middle name and I was born right after him. My favorite food is chicken pattie. When I grow up I'm going to be a famous baseball player, a cartoonist and a writer.
