Fires

Westminster: Firefighters from Westminster, New Windsor, Pleasant Valley and Union Bridge responded at 10: 23 p.m. Thursday to an apartment fire at Pinehurst Circle and South Burning Tree Drive. Units were out 38 minutes.

Westminster: Firefighters responded at 9: 44 p.m. Thursday to an auto fire in the 2500 block of Ridge Road. Units were out three hours and 20 minutes.

Honored: James Richards of Westminster has received the National Leadership Award presented by the National Republican Congressional Committee. He received the award for serving as co-chairman of the committee's Business Advisory Council, which was instrumental in shaping the Republican's balanced budget plan.
