Nov. 2: Who Did It? -- On Tuesday night some persons, either for "fun" or with evil intent, built a fence across East Baltimore Street, on the rise of Laudenslager's Hill, taking for the purpose posts and rails from one of the graveyards in the vicinity.

Oct. 31: It has been suggested that, in view of the near approach of Election Day and the need to fire the zeal of Republican patriots, the president will get up a new war, or a scare about the renewal of the last one. The Spanish War was disappointed expectations.

Oct. 31: Ghosts and goblins were but pale shadows on the Baltimore Halloween scene last night, but fearsome figures were abroad, nonetheless, adding a spice of terror to a parade otherwise just pleasantly noisy and gay.
