Keeping track of time

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Got the time? If not, there are plenty of places to get it, and in good old-fashioned analog style. No high-tech digitals here; these timely treasures let you know all the hours it isn't, as well as the one it is. And they do it with style.

EVENTS:

* Homewood House Museum will be the setting for a daylong symposium on the development of the American country house as an expression of style, taste and wealth. The event features Damie Stillman, professor of art history at the University of Delaware, and Milo M. Naeve, curator of American arts at the Art Institute of Chicago. The event begins at 11 a.m. Saturday with a tour of the exterior of Homewood House, which is on the grounds of the Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus, 3400 N. Charles St. The fee is $25 for museum members, $30 for nonmembers. For reservations or more information, call 410-516-5589.

* Fearsome fashions, spooky disguises and terrifying tales from the past will entertain the whole family at Haunted Histories, 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Maryland Historical Society, 201 W. Monument St. Admission is $4 for members, $5 for nonmembers. For more information or reservations, call 410-685-3750, Ext. 372.
