Police seek man, 37, in Howard Co. cases

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A Baltimore man wanted in two Howard County robberies is suspected of robbing an Ellicott City convenience store Tuesday, Howard County police said yesterday.

Police say Derrick Anthony Fields, 37, might be living in Baltimore but has roots in Howard.

About 7: 40 p.m. Tuesday, a man entered High's Dairy Store in the 3000 block of Rogers Ave., implied he had a weapon and fled with an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

Fields is wanted in an Oct. 10 purse snatching in Columbia and robbery three days later at a photo shop there, police said.

A man with a similar method robbed four other High's stores in the past few weeks, Sgt. Morris Carroll, police spokesman, said.

Metro Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment. Call 410-276-8888 or 410-313-4612.
