Body identified as that of Burtonsville man

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Police have identified the body of a man found Saturday in the Rocky Gorge Reservoir as 40-year-old Burtonsville resident Loc Ngoc Tran. They have ruled out homicide.

"After talking to the family, we still do not suspect foul play," Sgt. Morris Carroll, Howard County Police Department spokesman, said yesterday. He would not comment on whether police suspect drowning, accidental death or suicide.

Tran was reported missing by his family a week ago. Police believe Tran had been dead for two days when a boater discovered his body in the reservoir.

Officials are waiting for an autopsy report, which they estimate will be completed within two weeks, to determine the cause of death.

The reservoir serves Laurel and eastern Montgomery and northern Prince Georges' counties.
