THE BALTIMORE SUN

A man was killed and another man and a child were injured in a two-car collision yesterday on Route 108 in Clarksville, Howard County police said.

Police said Jong Sun Kim, 47, of the 4700 block of Hale Haven Drive in Ellicott City was driving a 1989 Toyota Camry east on Clarksville Pike near Trotter Road about 12: 28 p.m. when he crossed the center line and collided with a 1993 Mazda Protege.

The driver of the Mazda, Lian Zheng Liu, 33, of the 3000 block of Cresmont Ave. in Baltimore, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

They said a 7-year-old passenger in Liu's car suffered head lacerations and was in stable condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital last night. The child's seat belt was not fastened, police said.

Police said Liu was using a seat belt.

Kim, whose seat belt was fastened, suffered unspecified injuries and was in stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center last night, police said.

They said the accident was under investigation.
