The Galesville public school enjoys the distinction of having as principal, Mrs. Carrie Weedon, the only married teacher in the public schools of Anne Arundel County. -- The Sun, Oct. 5, 1898.

The Annapolis City Council voted down a resolution condemning the recent lynching of Wright Smith, who was shot by a mob Wednesday. The case is being heard before Coroner Julian Brewer and a jury. -- The Sun, Oct. 10, 1898.

Lafayette Day will be observed at St. John's College and in the public schools in honor of the visits of Lafayette to Annapolis. -- The Sun, Oct. 14, 1898.

Unusually high tides prevailed at Annapolis today. The north side of the City Dock was entirely submerged while the rising tide reached the fish market. -- The Sun, Oct. 18, 1898.

Leon Gottleib of Annapolis has purchased property fronting Main Street and extending to State House Circle for $5,000. He plans to erect a department store there. -- The Sun, Oct. 24, 1898.
