Issues of containment, protection, vulnerability and the like are explored through ceramics in the Baltimore Clayworks exhibit "Boxes, Barriers and Intimate Spaces." It brings together works by seven artists: Paula Winokur of Pennsylvania, Michael Simon of Georgia, Ron Kovatch of Illinois, Sang Roberson of Florida, Mary Kay Botkins of North Carolina and Jill Oberman and Jennifer Reed, both of Montana. Some of these works are functional, others sculptural, but they all relate in one way or another to the show's theme.

The exhibit runs at Baltimore Clayworks, 5706 Smith Ave., through Nov. 7, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Call 410-578-1919.
