Lindenmayer lifts Loyola over Rider

Christof Lindenmayer opened the scoring 17 minutes into the game and closed the scoring with 8: 33 left in the second overtime as visiting Loyola edged Rider, 2-1, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men's game yesterday.

Lindenmayer gave Loyola a 1-0 lead with a header from 17 yards out. Rider's Steve Jackson tied the score at the 24-minute mark to send the game into overtime.

Loyola (7-6-2, 2-1) outshot Rider (5-6, 2-2), 9-8.

North Carolina 2, No. 18 Maryland 1, OT: Chris Leitch scored at the 104: 36 mark off an assist from Daniel Jackson as the unranked Tar Heels (7-4, 1-3) upset the host Terps (8-4, 2-2) in ACC action last night.

Taylor Twellman broke the scoreless tie at the 56: 15 mark of the second half before North Carolina's Michael Bucy evened the score.

Lafayette 2, Navy 1, 2OT: Jake Ross scored the game-winner on a header at the 107: 11 mark of the second overtime to lift the visiting Leopards (9-1, 2-0) over the Mids (4-7-1, 1-2) in Patriot League action.

Towson 2, Delaware 1, OT: Richie Moller headed in a corner kick with 1: 20 left in overtime as the visiting Tigers (7-5, 3-1) edged the Blue Hens (6-5-1, 2-3) in America East action.
