City police charged a teen-age girl yesterday with the slaying of an 18-year-old woman who was stabbed Friday night in Northwest Baltimore.

The stabbing occurred in the victim's back yard about 9: 30 p.m.

Phyllis Delgado, 15, was charged as an adult with first-degree murder in the death of Alicia Lawson, city police said. Lawson and the suspect lived in the 5200 block of St. Charles Ave.

Delgado was being held without bail yesterday at the Central Booking and Intake Center.

Lawson, who died yesterday at 1: 47 a.m. at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, was stabbed once in the chest with a knife, said Detective Albert Marcus of the homicide unit. He said he did not know the motive.
