Henry Eugene Niblack, 49, insurance broker

Henry Eugene Niblack, an insurance broker, died Friday of cancer at his Columbia residence. He was 49.

Mr. Niblack, who was known as Gene, had been employed at Stanley Page Insurance Agency in Hunt Valley since 1995. He started his insurance career in 1974 in Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia native graduated from high school there and was in the Marine Corps from 1968 to 1971. He was active in the Black Student Achievement Program at Howard County High School and enjoyed gourmet cooking.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Mount Pisgah AME Church, 5901 Cedar Fern Court, Columbia.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, the former Loretta C. Bryant; two daughters, Stephanie Niblack and Genelle Niblack, both of Columbia; his mother, Loretta Johnson; three brothers, the Rev. Thomas Niblack, Charles Johnson Jr. and Eric Johnson; and two sisters, Estelle Wyatt and Verna Niblack, all of Philadelphia.
