A male pedestrian found the body of a woman lying in a greens-ward in the 500 block of St. Mary St., near Seton Hill, about 2 a.m. yesterday, police said.

An autopsy by the state medical examiner's office showed the woman was strangled, police said.

They said her name was being withheld pending notification of family members.

Police said they had no suspect and knew of no motive for the slaying.
