Herman Jerome Trent, 66, construction worker

Herman Jerome Trent, a retired construction worker, died Friday of lung failure at Sinai Hospital.

The Northwest Baltimore resident was 66.

The native of Charlottesville, Va., served in the Army during the Korean War and settled in Baltimore after he was discharged. He worked as a mason tender for Henry J. Knott Construction Co. and retired in 1992. He was a member of Laborers International Union of North America.

In recent years, Mr. Trent enjoyed washing his car, sitting on his porch in the 5400 block of Jonquil Ave. and meeting with friends daily at Reisterstown Road Plaza.

Services are set for noon todayat Nutter Funeral Home, 2501 Gwynns Falls Parkway.

He is survived by his wife, the former Vivien Luck, whom he married in the 1950s; a son, Bernard Anthony Jerome Trent; three daughters, Faith B. Terrell, Sundra Anthonette Trent and Evelina Noreen Trent; and eight grandchildren. All are of Baltimore.
