Three teens were injured yesterday in a drive-by shooting in Southwest Baltimore in which at least 27 rounds were fired by a gunman, police said.

Detective Shelton Jones of the violent crimes task force said the victims -- 17, 18, and 19 years old -- were sitting near a bus stop in the first block of W. Caton Ave. in Irvington about 5 p.m. when one of two males in a white car with a black top leaned out of a window and fired at least two .380-caliber semiautomatic pistols.

The car then sped away, heading north on Hilton Street, said Jones.

He said the 19-year-old victim was shot twice in the left arm, once in the left shoulder and once in the right arm and was in stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

He said the 17-year-old was shot in the left thigh, and the 18-year-old in the left ankle. Both were in stable condition at St. Agnes Health Care, he said.

He said the victims' names were being withheld because they are witnesses to a crime.

Jones said the shooting appeared to be part of a continuing unspecified dispute.
