150 years ago in The Sun Oct. 7: More Discord -- Quite a number of ladies were also arrested yesterday, and arraigned before Justice Robbins, upon the charge of abusing and threatening the lives of each other, to the no little amusement of lookers on, and the discredit which such low groveling transactions never fail to attach to the participants. They were all bound over to keep the peace for half a year.

100 years ago in The Sun Oct. 4: STREET MUSIC RESTRICTED -- The ordinance prohibiting the playing of organs, street pianos and other musical instruments in the streets between 10: 30 p.m. and 8 a.m. under penalty of $5 was passed by the Second Branch.

50 years ago in The Sun Oct. 6: "It's a standing-up crowd," lamented a vendor of portable seats at last night's football game between the Colts and the Cleveland Browns at the Stadium. His seats weren't selling. "Its so cold and wet people with seats prefer to stand," he observed. But it wasn't only the weather that brought the 22,359 spectators to their feet. It was the Colt's playing and the Brown's tough opposition.
