Police arrest pair after finding man shot dead in car

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Two men were arrested last night after the fatal shooting of a man whose body was found in the trunk of car in a residential area of Roland Park, police said.

Detective Carol Opher said the body of Dameon Travon Burrell, 18, of the 2500 block of Madison Ave., was found about 6 p.m. by police responding to a report of several shots fired on St. Mary's Lane behind the 300 block of Hawthorne Road in North Baltimore.

Opher said Burrell left his home driving his mother's 1993 Infiniti Q45 about 5 p.m. and somewhere came into contact with two men and ended up on St. Mary's Lane.

She said blood inside the car indicated that Burrell was shot at least once before being placed in the trunk and shot at least two times afterward.

Police said a 52-year-old resident of the 4500 block of Wilmslow Road in Roland Park, who was walking his dog near the scene, saw two men running down the 100 block of Indian Lane.

When he tried to stop one of them, he was struck in the face, police said. They said he suffered a cut above his left eye that required several stitches.

A short time later, police arrested two men near Hawthorne Road and recovered a .25-caliber handgun believed used in the shooting and a quantity of cocaine and cash.
