No. 1 River Hill rolls on Tedrow scores two goals in shutout of Long Reach; Roundup

Todd Tedrow scored two goals in leading top-ranked River Hill to a 4-0 win yesterday over Long Reach in boys soccer. Brett Endler added a goal and an assist for the Hawks, who scored three second-half goals.

Goalkeepers Mike DiBella (four saves) and Rizvon Gill (two saves) combined to shut out the Lightning.

Girls soccer

Good Counsel 3, No. 3 Liberty 2: Valerie Lawrence, Kelley Schneider and Angie Galt scored a goal apiece to lead host Good Counsel over the Lions (4-2-1) in a non-league game.

The Wheaton team led 1-0 at the half and 3-0 in the second half, but the Lions cut the deficit to one on goals by Becky Podobnik and Michelle Allen in the final 15 minutes. Liberty pressured for the rest of the game, but goalkeeper Noe Berkholtz preserved the win, finishing with seven saves.

No. 10 Hereford 13, Overlea 0: Missy Mueller had three goals and two assists and Sarah Stoltz contributed two goals as the host Bulls (6-1) blitzed the Falcons (0-5). Natalie Rostek had two goals and an assist in the second half after playing goalkeeper in the first half.

No. 13 Hammond 1, Glenelg 0, OT: Monica Serianni scored 3: 05 into overtime to lift the Bears (4-0-1) over the Gladiators in a Howard County League game. Jamie Epperlein had 19 saves for Glenelg (3-3, 1-1) and Lindsey Mitchell had nine for Hammond (4-0-1, 1-0).

Volleyball

No. 10 Archbishop Spalding 3, Mount Carmel 0: Junior Lauren Schaech scored 10 points, was 15 of 15 on serves, and had 21 assists and four blocks to lead the Cavaliers (7-0) over the host Cougars (4-2).
