EDGEWOOD -- A White Marsh man was killed yesterday after his van slid under a tractor-trailer, state police said.

Robert Edward Ashley, 72, was driving a 1988 Dodge Ram van on U.S. 40 near Mountain Road shortly after 5 a.m. yesterday when he crashed into a tractor-trailer being driven by Noris Dishon, 57, of Edgewood. Police said Dishon was pulling out of a truck stop, crossing the eastbound lanes of U.S. 40 to get to the westbound lanes.

The accident is being investigated, police said.
