The last of the Spanish prisoners of war who were held at the U.S. Naval Academy will leave Thursday. There were 70 officers and 14 enlisted men. -- The Sun, Sept. 8, 1898.

Application has been made for 100 Marines for the Naval Academy. This number is necessary for the eight posts which it is proposing to establish. -- The Sun, Sept. 15, 1898.

Permission was granted by the Anne Arundel County commissioners for the Baltimore, Marley and Mountain Railway to pass over Curtis Creek and Cabin Branch bridges in the county. -- The Sun, Sept. 21, 1898.

John H. Geis & Co. were awarded a contract to build a one-story public schoolhouse in Glen Burnie for $1,873. -- The Sun, Sept. 21, 1898.

Dr. Wm. S. Welch, health officer of Annapolis, has been appointed vaccine physician by the county commissioners to succeed Dr. George E. Marchand. -- The Sun, Sept. 23, 1898.
